DevOps resources

I just finished the DevOps Culture and Mindset course by Courtney Kissler on Coursera. This is one of the best resources, if not the best resource, I’ve found on DevOps and I cannot recommend it enough.

In addition to the material you can learn in a class or reading a book or paper, this course gives you an insight on the perspective of a technology leader when going through a DevOps organizational transformation. This is delivered through great story telling with real life examples.

Having started my engineering career working for Motorola manufacturing I had been exposed to SigSigma and Lean concepts since day one; and while taking this course I lost count of the many times abstract concepts I thought I knew came together as a comprehensive vision of the culture DevOps intends to build and evolve.

Finally, as a developer whose organization has been in a DevOps journey for a few years, I followed the initiatives started by our leadership and saw the positive results without ever getting the full picture of why we were doing what we were asked to do. This course offers answers to those Whys.

* The other two are in lockdown in my office

Other material I’ve found useful on my DevOps journey:

  1. DevOps Handbook

2. The Unicorn Project

3. The Phoenix Project

4. Accelerate
